Collection: Sticky Bumps

Sticky Bumps is a company that has been shining in the surf industry since 1971. They mainly focus on making board waxes. They started in Del Mar, California, where John Dahl, the founder, said he wanted to take surfing to the next level with better grip. And so Sticky Bumps was born - a brand that set out to make waxes that really hold.

Today, they are based in Vista, California, and have a state-of-the-art factory where they hand-make over four million waxes a year – which is a real massacre. Their waxes are known for their “Snag and Grab” technology, a gimmick from 1992 where the wax creates little bumps on the board for extra grip. Surfers love it because it gives control, but it’s also comfortable.

What's great is that they care about nature - their waxes are biodegradable, no toxic crap :-) and the packaging is made of recycled material. They have different types of waxes depending on the water temperature (from cold to tropical) and each has its own iconic scent signature - like blueberry or banana. Simply Sticky Bumps is a legend that stands behind the idea that surfing should be a sustainable pastime.

At Štvanice, the water in the Vltava River is slightly colder even in summer, so you'll be better off using the tropical range when traveling.
