Surficata plastic fins are a good choice if you are not sure how many you will break in a day. Our waves like to break fins and that is why Surficata fins are popular. The size of the fin determines how well the surfboard will hold you in the direction of travel. Riding without fins is like riding on ice. Small fins are great if you want to practice tricks where you slide your tail. However, if you want to ride a real carving and rely on the fins to hold you in the turn, you will need something bigger. But it is not all about the fins, it also depends on the placement of the finbox. If you have the finboxes closer to the tail, the board will generally hold its direction more and vice versa.

The cut version is great for waves where there is a risk of the fin getting stuck in the board. Thanks to the cut, the fin heel won't cut into the surf and you can keep riding.
