Flexible peel-and-stick SurfCo Hawaii Tail Guard Kit – three color options, easy installation, and reliable tail protection without altering board performance. Fits fish tails too.

Tail protection is often overlooked—even though the tail is one of the most exposed and vulnerable parts of your board. Standard guards are usually too bulky and can disrupt hydrodynamics. The SurfCo Hawaii Tail Guard sits flush with the lower rail, keeps water flow smooth, and preserves your board’s handling.

It’s highly versatile: fits all board shapes—from squash and round to pin, diamond, and swallow. For fish boards, simply cut the guard and apply it to both tail tips (see our photo with the Rivver board).

Installation guide

1. Prepare the surface: Remove wax, sand, and grease. Clean thoroughly with the included wipe.
2. Apply primer: Open the 3M Primer 94, apply evenly, and let it dry for 2–3 minutes.
3. Position and stick: Remove the protective film, align the center cutout or logo with your stringer.
4. Press and smooth: Work from the center outward, pressing firmly and removing any bubbles.
5. Cure: Allow 12–24 hours out of the water for full adhesive strength.
